50 years of women's suffrage

On February 7, 1971, 53 years after Germany, 52 after Austria, 27 after France and 26 after Italy, Swiss men voted for a modification of the Constitution in the sense that in the future Switzerland grants women the right to vote and stand for election.

65.7% yes against 34.2% no

The result of this vote is above all due to the courage and commitment of Swiss women and their long-standing struggle that this subject has been regularly put on the political agenda and that all forces have been mobilized in order to pressure on the Federal Council and mobilize to obtain the majority of the people and that of the cantons.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of this anniversary date, we have just published some badges that you will find in your parcels.
